Program Overview

We are seeking highly motivated and ambitious students for our STEM Internship Program across the following capabilities: Data & Analytics, AI/ML, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Product Management, and Design Thinking. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to real-world projects that will enhance your technical skills and prepare you for a successful career in your chosen field.t

At GSK, you will experience working in a fast-paced digital and technology environment with access to cutting edge technology, whilst interacting with industry-leading experts across multiple disciplines and sharing different experiences. During the internship, you will be supported and given training until confident to work independently – with a focus on GSK health and safety requirements.

Job Description

You will get the opportunity to develop one or more of the following capabilities during the STEM Internship Program.

Data & Analytics Capability:

  • Participate in data collection and analysis processes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data-driven strategies.
  • Collaborate with the team to create comprehensive data visualizations and reports.

AI/ML Capability:

  • Contribute to the development and testing of machine learning models.
  • Engage in data pre-processing and optimization tasks.
  • Explore innovative AI techniques and tools to improve existing processes.

Cyber Security Capability:

  • Participate in cyber defence activities including incident response, digital forensics, cyber intelligence, and security testing.
  • Contribute to the analysis of potential security threats and recommend effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of security solutions through secure design and architecture principles and protocols.
  • Assist in cyber resilience activities to develop business continuity strategies and tactics
  • Understand the difference between IT and OT cyber security and assist in building solutions specific to our operating technology environment.

Software Engineering Capability

  • Work closely with the development team on software design and coding.
  • Participate in software testing and debugging activities.
  • Assist in the creation of new features and enhancements.

Product Management Capability:

  • Support the product team in conducting market research and competitor analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive product roadmaps and feature specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product success and user satisfaction.

Design Thinking Capability:

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and design workshops.
  • Contribute to the creation of user-centric design solutions.
  • Assist in the development of prototypes and user experience testing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant STEM field; areas of study: Computer Science, IT, Mathematics/Statistics, Data Science/Data Analytics, or similar disciplines.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the assignment.
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid grasp of fundamental concepts in the respective track.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and eager to learn new technologies, tools, and methodologies.

What are the requirements?

You’ll need:

  • To be a talented, ambitious graduate with great technology skills

A degree (BTech/ B.E) in IT, computer science, circuit branch or a

technology-related subject with specialization in one or more of the

following - AI /ML, Data Analytics, Cyber Security, Although, if you’ve got

a track record for having success in technology, your degree could also

be in engineering, maths, statistics, or data science.

  • Fresh thinking with innovative new ideas that boost productivity and

efficiency

  • To work with data to find meaningful insights and drive data-driven

decision making

  • To enjoy hands-on programming, coding, and solving complex problem

leveraging technology driven solutions

  • To enjoy learning and exploring emerging technology (example Gen AI)

  • Written and spoken fluency in English
