The opportunity
Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services. Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Factory HSE Manager for the Business Unit Transformers to join our innovative and forward-thinking team in Zhongshan. This position offers you the opportunity to implement impactful health, safety, and environmental initiatives while collaborating with diverse teams to drive continuous improvement. How you’ll make an impact
1. You will ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
2. You will conduct comprehensive HSE risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards effectively.
3. You will implement and maintain HSE policies and procedures, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
4. You will develop and coordinate impactful HSE training sessions to enhance employee awareness and compliance and lead investigations into workplace incidents and devise corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
5. You will collaborate with departments to integrate HSE considerations into daily business operations seamlessly, regularly assess HSE performance indicators and prepare detailed reports to highlight trends and
improvements.
6. You will design and execute effective emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure readiness and resilience.
7. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
1. Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental roles within the industrial or energy sector.
3. Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices. Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and developing effective control measures to mitigate hazards and ability to analyze HSE performance data, prepare detailed reports, and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
4. Ability to drive behavioral change and promote a culture of health, safety and environmental responsibility.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to conduct training sessions and engage employees in HSE practices effectively.
