About us :
At FIS, our technology and our people are moving forward. We advance the way the world pays, banks and invests. We believe in building inclusive, diverse teams. Together, we innovate to help our colleagues, clients and communities succeed. If you’re ready to grow your career and make an impact in fintech, we have one question: Are you FIS?
About the Role
You will design, automate, and execute non-functional testing strategies for mission-critical payment processing platforms used by global financial institutions. This role focuses on validating performance, scalability, resilience, availability, and operational stability across legacy, modernized, and cloud-native technology environments. You will collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, and support teams to identify bottlenecks, resolve reliability issues, and improve system behavior under real-world conditions. Success is measured through measurable quality outcomes, performance baselines, operational readiness, and continuous improvement of platform reliability.
What You Will Be Doing
• Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, scalability, and resilience testing strategies.
• Define measurable non-functional acceptance criteria from business and architectural requirements.
• Create realistic workload models reflecting high-volume payment processing and transaction flows.
• Automate test provisioning, execution, monitoring, and reporting across multiple environments.
• Integrate non-functional validation into CI/CD pipelines using modern engineering practices.
• Analyze JVM, application, infrastructure, network, and container metrics to identify bottlenecks.
• Perform root-cause analysis using logs, traces, metrics, and testing outcomes.
• Validate application behavior during peak loads, failures, recovery events, and failover scenarios.
• Reproduce and investigate customer-reported performance, capacity, and stability issues.
• Establish performance baselines, identify regressions, and recommend corrective actions and capacity improvements.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in performance engineering, non-functional testing, site reliability engineering, DevOps, or related disciplines.
• Strong expertise in performance, load, stress, scalability, and resilience testing of distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of Java applications, JVM internals, memory management, garbage collection, threading, and concurrency.
• Experience analyzing heap dumps, thread dumps, CPU utilization, memory consumption, and application profiling data.
• Experience working with Java application platforms, including IBM WebSphere Application Server and/or Open Liberty.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native application architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and automation frameworks, including Jenkins and Maven.
• Strong ability to analyze metrics, logs, traces, network behavior, and backend integrations.
• Knowledge of networking concepts including latency, bandwidth, load balancing, retries, timeouts, and connection management.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with performance testing platforms such as JMeter, Gatling, k6, NeoLoad, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, instrumentation, and observability practices.
• Experience with Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch, and related monitoring platforms.
• Experience supporting payment systems, financial services applications, or large banking environments.
• Knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards and payment-processing ecosystems.
• Familiarity with chaos engineering, capacity engineering, high-availability architectures, and failure testing techniques.
