The Senior Data Transformation Lead is a senior-level position in the Olympus Data fabric team, in the Data Engineering organization. The responsibilities include identifying and implementing end-to-end solutions which align data between front office and global functions of the firm. This role is critical for Citi to achieve it’s data transformation goals, as well as complying with critical regulatory programs in this space.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the technical data strategy for Markets, which includes Capital Reporting requirements for Global Systemically Important Bank (GSIB), Stress Loss Usage (SLU), Standardized Approach for Counterparty Credit Risk (SA-CCR), enhancement Book of Work which will address Strategic Front Office to General Ledger trade data alignment. The responsibilities include, providing technical solutions program definition, execution, and production delivery
- Deliver robust technical solutions to complex business challenges for Markets Business.
- Work with senior business and technology partners to define requirements
- As business requirements change, evaluate and recommend appropriate technical alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems by analyzing business processes, systems and industry standards
- Influence & negotiate with Senior Business and Technology Management, as part of the execution of the Enterprise-wide Markets Data strategy across Front Office, Risk and Finance
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, as their trusted advisor
- Make difficult decisions in the face of challenges and adversity, regardless of popular opinion, which results in diverse options and the best decision for Citi.
- Provide vision and direction to the Business Analysis and Development teams within the Olympus team, as well as, across Services, Markets and Clients (SM&C) organization, Risk and Finance technology teams
- Diagnose problems and cut through ambiguity across data, systems and organizations which include Front Office, Risks and Finance systems
- Identify/communicate risks and impact, propose risk mitigation options, considering business implications of the application of technology; apply sound ethical judgment. demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets
- Provide in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions and influence strategic functional decisions
- Direct management of Business analysts and programs managers
- Supervise day-to-day staff management, including resource management, work allocation, mentoring/coaching and other duties and functions as assigned
- Identify and introduce emerging technology trends to inform decision-making.
- Foster a culture of innovation and Engineering Excellence across all projects
- Provide support towards budget and forecasting exercise.
- Champion diversity, inclusion & VoE metrics across the organization
Qualifications:
- 8+ years or more years of experience in Technology (Capital Markets technology preferred )
- 8+ years extensive Business Analysis experience in one or more Markets Business: Equities, FX, Rates, Credit, Commodities
- 5+ functional and technical experience in Capital Markets across Front Office, Middle Office, Operations and Finance
- 5+ year experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
- Strong technical solution and delivery skills identifying opportunities & championing ongoing best-in-class business transformation/ innovation for global enterprise projects
- Understanding of Trade lifecycles, Business Events, Accounting Events, and related data.
- Expertise presenting & socializing technical solutions and program status with Senior Management across Business & Technology
- Demonstrated strong leadership taking control of complex Issue for the business, facilitating technical workings session, providing technology solutions through resolution.
- Effective communication and influential skills using logical thought process, with ability to arrive at consensus across varied user groups
- Positive and motivated individual with an ability to take initiative; demonstrate resiliency and calm under pressure.
- Drive and deliver the large-scale projects in a diverse technical environment
- Ability to drive architecture decisions
- Strong working knowledge of data management and big data platforms, which includes
- Hadoop
- Expertise in Big Data querying tools e.g. Hive and Impala
- Relational SQL and NoSQL databases
- Business Intelligence Tools
- Financial message formats (e.g. Fix, FPML, Swift ISO, etc.)
- Experience with complex data analysis
- Comprehensive knowledge of all phases of Software Development Life Cycle
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) with extensive experience using Excel for data analysis
- Use of Confluence, JIRA, and other agile team process tools to accelerate team outcomes.
