The Clinical Pharmacist – Inpatient supports Mercy's 24/7 pharmacy operations through a combination of operational and, as opportunities arise, decentralized clinical pharmacy services. Responsibilities include medication order verification, prescription fill verification, renal dose monitoring, IV room support, compounding, and collaboration with the onsite infusion center and oncology team. This caregiver also provides disease-state education, medication education, and medication histories to help optimize therapy and support safe, effective patient care.
A caregiver in this position will work a combination of day and evening shifts, with approximately 60% of shifts on days and 40% on evenings. Day shifts are 6:00am to 3:30pm, while evening shifts are 3:30pm to 12:00am. Caregivers participate in an every third weekend rotation and work approximately three holidays per year.
