Position Summary...

About Team:

This is the team which builds reusable technologies that aid in acquiring customers, onboarding and empowering merchants besides ensuring a seamless experience for both these stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment, adhering to the Walmart philosophy - Everyday Low Cost. In addition to ushering in affordability, we also create personalized experiences for customers the omnichannel way, across all channels - in-store, on the mobile app and websites.  

 

Marketplace is the gateway to domestic and international Third-Party sellers; we enable them to manage their end-to-end onboarding, catalog management, order fulfilment, return & refund management. Our team is responsible for design, development, and operations of large-scale distributed systems by leveraging cutting-edge technologies in web/mobile, cloud, big data & AI/ML.  We interact with multiple teams across the company to provide scalable robust technical solutions. 

What you'll do:

  • As a Frontend developer, you will develop feature sets that involve Responsive UIs with Restful Services and ensure a seamless product experience.
  • Excellent proficiency in front-end technologies (React/NodeJS/TypeScript/JavaScript/HTML/CSS/React frameworks).
  • Software development by providing engineering patterns to deliver the optimal product, including implementing design patterns. Work closely with peers and senior engineers/architects.
  • Partner with UX, product owners, and business SMEs to analyse the business need and provide a supportable and sustainable engineered solution. Ensure that the overall technical solution is aligned with the business needs.
  • Drive the creation and modifications of the product portfolio components, identify, and engage all technical resources necessary to contribute to the solution, ensuring the solution is consistent with Walmart architecture, design, and development standards.
  • Build reusable React components with Typescript & modular CSS, manage data on the client with Redux, and test everything with Jest.
  • Measure and resolve performance bottlenecks, using tools like Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, Webpage test, or custom tooling.
  • Implement Graph and chart-based UI applications and work with complex/varied data structures.
  • Extend, and improve open-source tools/frameworks.
  • Develop applications using industry best practices. Adjust and adopt new methodologies that provide the business with increased flexibility and agility.
  • Stay current with the latest development tools, technology ideas, patterns, and methodologies, sharing knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to key stakeholders.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Frontend development.
  • Hands on experience building highly scalable, high performance, responsive web applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of application development using ReactJS, Redux, ES6, React-JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, XML, JSON, functional programming, and front-end languages.
  • Strong knowledge of React fundamentals such as Virtual DOM, component lifecycle, and component state.
  • Experience building customisable, reusable, and dynamic frontend components using ReactJS, React Hooks, JavaScript, ES6, Typescript, HTML and CSS.
  • Proven ability in implementing best/excellent practices and Design Patterns like promises, application flow control, event/error/AJAX handling, observables, and Redux.
  • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs / GraphQL 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, unit testing, automated frontend testing.
  • Ability to develop functional, technical and user interface designs for an application that meets the defined requirements (business, system performance, and standards)
  • Demonstrates deep expertise in specific coding concepts and/or languages, especially around modern application architectures.
  • In-depth understanding of how browsers function.
  • Experience partnering with others to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent analytical, design, decision-making skills.
  • Good experience with development tools such as Git, NPM, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, CI/CD, testing, and operations.
  • Work closely with the Developers and Engineers to achieve a high level of code coverage
  • Strong Knowledge of container-based development, orchestration, microservices frameworks, and tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
  • Experience working on large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience in organisations running fully automated, end-to-end CI/CD processes.
  • Experience in deploying applications on the cloud.
  • Have influential communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
  • Have troubleshooting skills to address business and production issues by gathering information, performing root cause analysis to reduce future issues, engaging support teams when needed, developing solutions, driving the development of an action plan, performing actions as designated in the plan, and completing online documentation.
