The Red Hat Performance and Scale team is looking for an Intern interested in working on performance and scale to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will collaborate with product teams and other Performance & Scale engineers to plan, conduct and communicate performance evaluations of multiple Red Hat Products. Your work will help contribute and optimize Red Hat products. You will work on leveraging AI to evaluate and improve the scale limits and performance of different Red Hat products.  This long-term internship will give you the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about Red Hat’s business and the open source culture.

What will you do?

• Learn about Performance and Scale engineering.

• Learn about Red Hat offerings and how they can be assembled into solutions to address our customers data challenges

• Learn the Tooling around Performance and Scale and contribute to the development of it.

• Work on the performance and scale planning, testing and results communicating

• Learning and documenting about how products in question work, what resources they are using and what are the potential bottlenecks

• Collaborate with development, quality engineers and product management to identify and resolve critical performance issues of our offerings and help guide solutions

• Develop and run complex performance tests to work with OpenShift, AWS EC2, debug test issues

• Understand and visualize patterns in data workloads that align with our customers strategy and business

• Develop machine learning, data mining, and statistical techniques and algorithms to create new, scalable solutions

• Acquire proficiency in diverse AI tools and conduct experiments on leveraging AI to assess and enhance scale limitations and performance.

What will you bring?

• Proficiency in UNIX or Linux operating systems (any distribution).

• Coding experience in languages such as Python.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Keen interest in testing, analysis, and automation.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited university program within India.

The following are considered a plus: 

• Previous code contributions to or participation in open source projects or code samples on GitHub 
• Knowledge of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Kubernetes, or Bash scripting
