Position Overview
The Vice President, Portfolio Operations will work side-by-side with the portfolio operations, investment teams and portfolio companies to define and execute operational value creation initiatives identified during and after due diligence, within first year of an investment, and over the deal lifecycle. This person will be responsible for engaging in a number of projects across geographies, industries, and functions focused on leading management teams to successfully execute strategic initiatives focused on maximizing the performance of portfolio companies. This role will report directly to Mike Monagle, Principal, Portfolio Operations, as well as the leadership of the London office, and work closely with the senior members of the investment teams, leading go-to-market-oriented value creation activities across a set of portfolio businesses, benchmarking go-to-market success drivers for application across the portfolio, and occasionally partnering with investment teams on new investments and add-on acquisitions.
Responsibilities
The Vice President, Portfolio Operations will be responsible for the following:
Working with portfolio companies to develop and implement impactful strategic recommendations that push positive operational change
Building and fostering strong relationships with the executive leaders at the portfolio companies to drive influence and add value
Enhancing the GTM function to enhance revenue generation
Opportunistically identifying and implementing tactics to improve margin
Occasionally be involved in the due diligence associated with new investments by partnering with the investment team to identify key risks and opportunities associated with potential new investments and add-on acquisitions

Experience with, and understanding of what it takes to, drive business transformation
Familiarity with value drivers relevant to businesses ideally in one of our target sectors.
Self-starter with intrinsic and demonstrated entrepreneurial capabilities.
Team player with a highly collaborative working style
Exceptional communication skills. Must be able to develop and sustain credibility and good working rapport with senior portfolio company leaders on a standalone basis.
Strong EQ – e.g., operates with high degree of integrity and acts as ambassador for Providence Equity Partners.
Exceptional problem-identification and solving skills, able to diagnose the opportunities or challenges facing portfolio companies or new investments systematically and rapidly and will craft fit-for-purpose solutions.
Cuts through internal complexity and ambiguity to create clarity for teams, a clear path forward and the right operating mechanics to drive performance.
Strong ability to identify, engage, and effectively manage third-party resources to leverage and expand the effective size of the group
Must be willing to travel
Bachelor’s degree equivalent in the UK / EU is required
