The VP of M&A will be a member of Focus’ core M&A team. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, leadership qualities, transaction evaluation and execution experience and a demonstrated ability to establish deep and trusting relationships. Knowledge of the financial advice space and excellent relationships throughout the industry are added, but not necessary, benefits. Successful candidates are team players, self-starters, and intellectually curious. An ideal candidate will possess the ability to be flexible and nimble in an entrepreneurial, fast-growing, and dynamic team environment.
 
This role is based in New York, NY, San Francisco, CA or Austin, TX.
  
Primary Responsibilities
·         Manage and lead 3-5 transactions a year alongside a senior team member
·         Work closely with Focus’ finance and legal teams and partner firm / hub management teams
·         Lead all parts of a deal process, including valuation, term sheet presentation, due diligence and contract negotiations
·         Prepare and present Investment Committee (IC) memorandums to the IC committee
·         Participate in business development process, pitching to prospective sellers and managing relationships with investment banks
·         Prepare and present M&A updates to various stakeholders across the firm
·         Oversee and work with team of analysts and associates throughout deal process and on teamwide initiatives
 
Qualifications
·         Minimum of 7 years work experience, with 2+ years in investment banking, private equity, strategic consulting or corporate M&A
·         MBA degree from a leading university preferred
·         Experience in entrepreneurial or fast-paced environments and/or financial services experience preferred
·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to lead meetings and processes immediately
·         The position will involve travel

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $150,000 - $175,000.  Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant's skill set.  The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.  Other reward may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
