A caregiver in this position works nights from 11:00PM – 7:30AM. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Clean floors, windowsills, banisters, stairways, lounges, lobby and admitting areas, locker rooms, meeting rooms, doctor’s quarters, solarium, corridors and emergency room. 

  • Strip, scrub and refinish floors.  

  • Extract, shampoo and bonnet carpets.  

  • Wash walls, ceilings, lights, windows, casings, cabinets and closets.  

  • Operate automated floor maintenance equipment, floor scrubbers, floor strippers, rotary low- and high-speed floor machines, vacuums and detail equipment.  

  • Move furniture, replace windows and draw drapes and shades.  

  • Answer calls for spills, floods, etc.  

  • Use and maintain office sweeping tools, mops, wringers, soaps, cleansers and other cleaning equipment.  

  • Pull trash, infectious waste and needles.  

  • Transport objects, including office equipment, projectors, blackboards, microphones and other equipment to meeting rooms.  

  • Clean and wash contaminated rooms.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Ability to communicate effectively 

  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions  

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • Six months of housekeeping or floor care experience 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

  • Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

  • Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

  • Willingness and ability to move and climb ladders and/or scaffolding ​

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
