SUMMARY

The Manager of Omni Fulfillment Center (OFC) Operations is responsible for the coordinating and managing of the daily operation of a multiple shift - continuous operation distribution center which includes receiving, selection and shipping of goods. In addition, the Manager of OFC Operations is accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical performance of the operation with focus on Safety, Accuracy, Productivity and Housekeeping. This position will frequently interact with corporate offices on issues concerning vendor compliance and new product lines are received and are accounted for. Budgeting improvement of processes to ensure customers’ needs are being met in terms of quality and cost-effective logistics services is expected while maintaining corporate values and objectives.

JOB DUTIES

  • Culture of Excellence:
    • Monitors all aspects of the operation to ensure budget goals and key performance indicators are being met or exceeded.
    • Motivates a productive work force and recommends improvement strategies to supervisors. Trains and develops management staff as well as hourly and salaried team members. Handles Team Member Relations issues as needed.
    • Interaction with Corporate office on Vendor compliance, Holiday schedules, new store opening, new product lines and other logistical concerns.
    • Maintains a safe work environment through OSHA compliance and safety training. Works with other departments within the OFC to increase productivity and accuracy. Monitors all current procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Inbound Optimization:
    • Yard Inventory/Detention - Oversee and optimize count of trucks and impending detention spend
    • Oversee put away time and task
    • Oversee replenishment task - Optimize count of open replenishment tasks
  • Outbound Optimization:
    • Oversee Selection - Picking accuracy, labor productivity, utilization
    • Packing - Oversee packing rate, oversee packing material cost
  • Team Development/Engagement:
    • Engage with Supervisors and Team Members to better understand involvement outside of their normal work functions.
    • Understand employee turnover and define root causes for team members exiting.
    • Strive for a culture of continuous improvement and install this mentality into team members.
    • Maintain the departmental skills matric across the department and building.
  • Sales Support/Order Management:
    • Measurement and accuracy of picked orders.
    • Management of return rates and discovering root causes as to why orders are returned.
  • Maintenance:
    • Ensure preventative maintenance is completed and within compliance for local, state and federal jurisdiction.
    • Document and oversee emergency maintenance tasks and ensure completion.
    • Oversee downtime due to equipment and technology throughout the building.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct management of OFC operation managers including shift managers or shipping/receiving and selection managers. Indirectly manages a team of over 200+ team members.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in business or High School Diploma with 10+ years equivalent work experience

Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in business, logistics or related field.

Experience Minimum: 6+ years' experience in managing a labor intensive, SKU intensive, high volume, multi facility operation.

Experience Preferred: 10+ years of relevant experience. 10+ years necessary if substituting experience for education.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Stand or walk on concrete for 8-12 hours per day
  • Climb flights of metal stairs and/or metal ladders
  • Operate a computer or other office machinery such as a printer
  • Sit, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull and twist
  • Lift and move 65 lbs. unassisted and 75 lbs. assisted

  • Knowledge of warehouse systems
  • MS Office product knowledge (Word, Excel, etc.)
