About the Role

The Agency department of AIA Insurance is seeking a skilled and results-driven Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will leverage advanced analytical techniques and Power BI for data visualization, report building, and dashboard creation to drive business decisions, optimize processes, and enhance customer experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply data-driven insights to a range of business problems, contributing directly to the company’s digital transformation in the insurance industry.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Power BI Expertise: Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization, report building, and dashboard creation. Experience with DAX and Power Query is a plus.
• Data Handling: Strong SQL skills for querying and managing large datasets. Experience with data modeling and ETL pipelines is preferred.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and automation.
• Data Engineering: Ensure data quality by cleaning, transforming, and processing large datasets from multiple sources.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, including agency leaders, product managers, and IT to understand business requirements and translate them into data science solutions.
• Presentation and data story-telling: Create impactful presentations to effectively communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders and guide strategic decision-making.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics. PhD candidates are welcome to apply.

Technical Skills:

• High proficiency in Power BI, and programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and modeling methods.
• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Databricks.
• Expertise in SQL for data manipulation and querying.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in the insurance sectors.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing machine learning models in production environments.
• Strong ability to work with large, complex datasets.
