Azure Data Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Data Lead with 8–12 years of experience in designing, building, and leading modern data platforms on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Azure Data Factory (ADF) and a proven track record of leading data engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-performance data solutions.
This role requires strong technical leadership, architecture capabilities, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to drive end-to-end data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures on
- Architect and optimize big data solutions using Azure Databricks and PySpark.
- Design and orchestrate robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Define best practices for data engineering, coding standards, and deployment
- Drive performance tuning and optimization of large-scale data
Data Engineering & Development
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured
- Develop high-performance transformations using PySpark in
- Implement incremental data loads, CDC strategies, and data validation
- Design data lake and lakehouse architectures using Azure
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices are
Architecture & Design
- Design data ingestion frameworks from multiple sources (APIs, databases, streaming platforms).
- Implement medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) in
- Work with Azure storage solutions (ADLS Gen2, Blob Storage).
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and cost optimization of cloud data
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor a team of data
- Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best
- Drive Agile ceremonies and sprint planning
Required Skills & Expertise
- 8–12 years of experience in Data
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Azure Databricks and Data Fabric
- PySpark
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2).
- Strong SQL skills and performance optimization
- Experience designing enterprise-level ETL/ELT
- Knowledge of data modeling concepts (Dimensional modeling, Star/Snowflake schema).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps
- Understanding of data governance, security, and complianc
Good to Have
- Experience with Delta Lake and Lakehouse
- Knowledge of streaming technologies (Event Hub, Kafka).
- Exposure to Power BI or other visualization
- Experience in handling large-scale data migration
- Azure certifications (e.g., DP-203).
