We are currently hiring an Assistant Manager, Finance Operations based in our Head Office. 

Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office. Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered. 

As the Assistant Manager, Finance Operations at BCAA, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Banking, Accounts Payable (AP), and Procurement teams, providing leadership, guidance, and ensuring that all transactions and processes align with corporate policies and objectives. You will support the strategic transformation of administrative processes, identifying opportunities for improvement while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and vendor management best practices. 

 

This role requires a proactive and strategic leader who is passionate about process improvement and operational efficiency. You will work closely with the Manager, Finance Operations to ensure effective cash flow management and vendor relations, all while leading and developing a high-performing, adaptable team.

  • You are an experienced finance professional with strong expertise in accounts payable, procurement, and vendor management.

  • You are highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple financial processes while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

  • You are a proactive problem-solver, able to identify opportunities for process improvements and drive the implementation of best practices. 

  • You have excellent communication skills and are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure smooth operations.

What you’ll do: 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of banking and transactions, providing insight and support on cash flow analysis and reporting. 

  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable function, resolving conflicts, negotiating payment arrangements, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. 

  • Oversee procurement operations, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures, and driving continuous improvements in sourcing and vendor management. 

  • Monitor corporate inventory and credit card operations, recommending improvements where necessary to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 

  • Lead vendor analysis, performance reviews, and risk management initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and purchasing policies. 

  • Supervise and develop your team, providing mentorship and supporting their long-term career goals while maintaining high levels of engagement and adaptability. 

  • Assist the Manager, Finance Operations in implementing strategic initiatives and financial best practices across BCAA. 

 

What you bring: 

  • You hold a diploma in Finance, Marketing, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in finance operations, with a minimum of 3 years in accounts payable, procurement, or a related field, and 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role. 

  • You have demonstrated leadership skills with proven success in fostering high team engagement and delivering on financial goals. 

  • You possess excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present financial information to both management and non-management stakeholders. 

  • You have strong customer service and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Skills: 

  • Knowledge of BCAA’s financial system (EPICOR). 

  • Experience with multi-stage projects and system implementations. 

  • A proven track record in leveraging analytical and problem-solving skills to meet and exceed financial targets.

The salary range for this position is $76,000 to $93,000 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 12.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 20%.
