Job Summary:

Accountable to provide oversight for the operational and administrative activities of respiratory care, pulmonary function lab, and the critical care transport team. Responsible for day to day staffing and operations while maintaining fiscal accountability. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving the quality of services with the goal of optimal patient outcomes. Demonstrates clinical expertise for the provision of safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate care to patients of all ages. Plans, coordinates, and provides education to respiratory care, pulmonary function lab, the critical care transport team, and the medical care providers. Works interdependently with and also independently of the team.

Education & Experience

Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care Technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Plus two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:  Mississippi State Board for Allied Health License (Respiratory Care); Certification for National Board Of Respiratory Care (CRT); ACLS; and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board Of Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of: therapeutic and diagnostic procedures and tests; ability to organize and lead meetings as well as present in groups; ability to collect, analyze, and present data; ability to implement change.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Respiratory Care staff members, develop/manage staffing plans and scheduling.  Monitor and adjust as needed to support volume and growth.
  • Manage operational budget including equipment and supplies.
  • Measure program performance through data management and dashboard metrics.
  • Assess the learning needs of the Respiratory Care staff members and other healthcare providers.
  • Manage patient charges and audits/edits payroll data, analyze program costs and productivity.
  • Measures program performance through data management.
  • Creates employee work schedules.
  • Completes employee performance evaluations.
