The Importance of the Role
The Director, Market Access Marketing is a results-driven leader responsible for shaping and executing US reimbursement and payer access strategies, including the design of payer-directed marketing resources, omnichannel promotional programs, and scientific forum presence that translates clinical and economic evidence into coverage impact. This critical leadership role ensures products are optimally positioned for coverage, reimbursement, and adoption across national and regional payer landscapes. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of the complex US healthcare landscape, including commercial, self-funded, and Medicaid reimbursement pathways. Operating in a highly matrixed environment, this cross-functional leader will collaborate closely with teams across HEOR, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Finance, National Accounts, and Business Operations to deliver integrated and impactful market access marketing strategies. The Opportunity to Make a Difference
Develop and execute the US Payer, Access & Reimbursement marketing strategy for the entire Sarepta portfolio — including the PMO franchise, gene therapy products, and SiRNA pipeline — translating payer landscape insights into a multi-channel tactical plan that encompasses print and digital promotional tools, scientific congress programming, and field pull-through resources.
Develop compelling value propositions and the payer messaging platform — working cross-functionally with Medical Affairs and HEOR — and translate these into a suite of payer-ready marketing materials including formulary dossier support, budget impact model briefs, visual aids, and objection-handling guides for field market access teams.
Synthesize and provide payer, access, and reimbursement strategic recommendations to executive leadership, leveraging deep understanding of the complex reimbursement landscape, including benefit design (pharmacy vs. medical benefit), prior authorizations, appeals processes, coding, and site-of-care regulations for specialty and infused therapies.
Serve as core member and contributor to the Commercial Strategy, Marketing, and Diagnostics Leadership team as well as individual brand teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners (i.e., Directors of National Accounts Leadership, Directors of Market Access and Reimbursement Leadership) to gain organizational alignment and seamless execution of key payer and reimbursement strategies.
Manage vendor agency of record to ensure fulfillment and execution of projects and tactics within budget and on agreed timelines, with deliverables executed in accordance with Sarepta’s compliance and regulatory policies.
Develop and execute market access and payer engagement materials, driving assets through the full MLR (medical, legal, regulatory) review and approval process while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and strategic objectives.
Coordinate deployment of approved materials (print/digital) with Commercial Operations to ensure appropriate training and utilization with field teams.
Design and execute field training programs for market access promotional materials — including launch briefings, interactive training modules, and pull-through tracking frameworks — to ensure National Accounts Directors and Market Access teams can effectively deploy approved content in payer engagements.
Manage Market Access Marketing team budget.
Support additional Commercial and U.S. Marketing Team initiatives.
Establish strong relationships and develop collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders in the field.
