24777097 Kdb Developer – (AVP) - London (Hybrid) 

Team:

The CloudKDB team is improving the architecture of their existing market and trade capture system. Allowing it to scale to capture more data sets required by the business. Then to expand to taking responsibility for developing applications/analytics on-top of that data.

Development Value:

An opportunity to work on big data problems at terabyte scale while working closely with business stakeholders to deliver solutions based on that data. 50+ servers with 200+ data sets distributed globally, providing answers to over 600 users. Training will be provided on the database used and over time it’s expected that you will gain a strong understanding of how the Citi eTrading business works across asset classes.

Role:

This role specifically will be working with the CloudKDB team to support cross asset eTrading.

Initially the role will focus on supporting and helping to productionise the existing system. Then focusing on developing new functionality to improve stability and reliability long term.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop parts of the Kdb target state architecture with the help of senior Kdb developers.
  • Document business requirements, propose and develop solutions.
    carry out testing to ensure requirements are met.
  • Continual improvement of the software development lifecycle and quality of the product.
  • Support users with accessing and querying data.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and to ask for help when required.
  • Understanding of computing fundamentals: concurrency, algorithms.
  • Strong interest in technology, a desire to learn about distributed systems, databases.
  • Desire to create systems/programs that deliver for users.

Skills

  • Experience working with KDB+ at enterprise level or Low latency Java or Python with the desire to learn KDB.
  • Experience of scrum based SDLC.
  • Knowledge of Linux/bash.
  • Experience of trading platforms or knowledge of financial markets.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience in a similar role.
