Financial Operations Bank Oversight Director

The Role

Join Fidelity Investments as a Financial Operations Bank Oversight Director, where you will strategically manage relationships with our external banking partners. This meaningful role includes leading conversations with important banking partners to ensure smooth money movement services for our customers. You will guide both strategic and tactical discussions with each bank’s client service and treasury teams, emphasizing service level expectations and current banking industry trends.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Cash Management & Oversight Vice President and the Bank Services & Reconciliation Director in Financial Operations. Handles daily operational discussions and service recovery issues involving banking partners.
  • Leading and coordinating discussions with five key WI banking partners, including monthly operating reviews, quarterly engagements, and annual on-site strategic sessions.
  • Maintaining a bank-specific scorecard, detailing key risk events, and collaborating with WI associates to complete service recovery.
  • Partnering directly with essential banking contacts and internal collaborators to impact the evolution of banking services while maintaining exact legal documentation and service level commitments.
  • Coordinating efforts with banking partners for readiness surrounding banking and industry changes impacting WI’s operational environment.
  • Preparing executive communications, briefing documents, and summaries of key banking industry changes and bank incidents, leading remediation efforts as needed.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated ability in a professional, fast-paced corporate environment, preferably in financial services. Your demonstrated leadership, excellent executive level communication and presentation skills, and talent for developing creative solutions to complex challenges will be crucial. You must be skilled at organizational navigation, managing multiple priorities, and performing operational banking duties promptly and optimally. Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail are necessary, as well as the ability to gain deep knowledge of money movement processes, operational controls, and procedures.

Our leadership team has solid technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Therefore, the Bank Oversight Director must thoroughly understand the operational needs of WI products. You will advocate for and assist the team in cross-enterprise projects, both inside and outside the organization. Given the considerable financial and reputational risks, it is crucial to perform proactive risk assessment and address business challenges promptly.
