Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Confluence Support Engineer to lead advanced support, administration, and optimization of Atlassian Confluence wiki infrastructure. This role requires deep technical expertise, ownership of complex incidents, and close collaboration with infrastructure, security, and application teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for Confluence on-prem, including root cause analysis of critical and recurring issues
  • Administer and maintain Confluence Data Center/Server environments (installation, upgrades, patching, and migrations)
  • Troubleshoot complex performance, stability, and availability issues (application, database, JVM, indexing, and clustering)
  • Manage integrations, custom plugins, REST APIs, and authentication mechanisms (LDAP/AD, SSO)
  • Perform backup, restore, disaster recovery testing, and capacity planning
  • Monitor system health and logs; proactively identify and mitigate risks
  • Define best practices, standards, and governance for spaces, permissions, and content lifecycle
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and SOPs
  • Mentor L1/L2 engineers and act as the technical escalation point
  • Coordinate with Atlassian support and vendors for critical issues

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Confluence on-prem (Server/Data Center) administration
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix, JVM tuning, and application performance troubleshooting
  • Experience with databases used by Confluence
  • Knowledge of clustering, load balancers, and high-availability architectures
  • Experience managing plugins, upgrades, and complex migrations
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise Confluence deployments
  • Knowledge of automation/scripting (Shell, Python)
  • Excellent communication skills, proven ability to distil and organize content into       compelling presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with all levels, across organizational structures.

  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Must have ability to troubleshoot problems and follow through to resolution.

  • Should be able to work across teams and resolve technical issues.
