An exciting opportunity has arisen for Sales Director, to lead and manage the retail sales function and ensure operational objectives are achieved through excellence of execution across the Retail portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the Retail sales function to meet Abbott Nutrition’s business objectives.

  • Build high performing teams by modeling and coaching direct reports to develop high performing teams and a performance culture.

  • Translate business priorities into a strategy that resonates with team members that results in driving customer value.

  • Ensure the field team, inclusive of third-party reps, have the required competencies, knowledge and skills to meet and achieve the sales objectives and intended growth.

  • Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable the sales function to achieve their potential and support company objectives.

  • Ensures and oversees that compensation, incentive and performance management systems support attainment of desired behaviours and establishes Abbott Nutrition to be known as an employer of choice.

  • Develop annual strategic sales function strategies that will support the delivery of current and future business objectives.

  • Partner with Marketing to ensure the business is engaging in promotional efforts aligned with customer insights.

  • Develop and strengthen strategic relationships with key customers (e.g. Physicians, key accounts, KOLs and patients) to support medical and commercial activities in alignment with compliance guidelines and company policies.

  • Outperform competition in share of shelf, visibility and product category placement to establish brands' superiority at Key Account level

  • Actively participates in the S&OP process by supporting forecasting

  • Evaluates market dynamics based on market trends, formulate demand analysis framework and establish key priorities to analyse target customers in identifying opportunities to influence the market

  • Works with regional stakeholders and trade sales team to drive organisational policies and procedures for receipt, distribution and secure storage of Abbott Nutrition products, implementing solutions to prevent loses

  • Leads demand and sales forecasting to drive optimal pricing programs for key accounts

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in the Australian retail pharmacy channel within OTC/Fast Moving Consumer Good (FMCG)

  • Related sales, marketing and strategy development experience

  • Previous leadership experience with proven track record of managing and leading a diverse team of sales and other healthcare professionals

  • Proven ability to attract top talent, develop people and build a high performing team.

  • Excellent cross functional leadership ability.

  • Ability to develop sales strategy and programs, and communicate product and business value in line with patient and customer needs.

  • Show ability to understand consumer and shoppers’ behaviours.  Solid understanding of consumer insights.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Resilience and optimism.

  • Proven track record of managing and leading team throughout changes and challenges.

  • Sales and marketing experience with a demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding financial and business targets.
