In this role you will lead a team of electricians and instrumentation technicians across our Extraction Primary and Secondary assets. As the Team Lead, you will encourage, motivate and fully engage your crew to achieve their full potential.Minimum Requirements:
Two or more years of proven leadership or supervisory experience within maintenance or operations in a heavy industrial environment
Five years’ experience working in a heavy industrial environment such as oil sands/petrochemical industry experience
A trade certificate or diploma or equivalent technical and operational experience
A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Responsibilities:
Uphold Suncor's purpose in your daily interactions and decision making, to provide trusted energy that enhances people's lives, while caring for each other and the earth
Maintain a visible presence in the field to develop employee engagement, assess work process effectiveness and ensure that a well-adapted approach to safety is present
Hold monthly shift safety meetings; review and follow up on items raised and take corrective action
Ensure that all permit and lockout procedures are followed
Lead effective incident investigations, implement corrective actions to prevent re-occurrences and develop creative solutions
Conduct field level risk assessments assuring our risk protocols are followed and all permitting, hazardous energy isolation and risk mitigation processes are thoroughly conducted
Ensure the administration of the collective agreement and our personnel policies occurs in a fair and consistent manner
Provide mentorship and ensure development and competency of the crew, set expectations and hold individuals accountable to meet those expectations
Perform all functions within the SAP computerized maintenance system to accurately detail, approve and assign the work that is performed on shift
Ensure that all maintenance work assigned by planning and scheduling is executed during each shift and ensure plant outage durations are minimized, by maximizing the application of resources without compromising worker safety or longer-term plant reliability
Interact with the operations and planning department to optimize production; establish work priorities and provide feedback to the operating groups on equipment performance, planning effectiveness and concern
Location and other Key Details:
You will work out of our Base Plant location in Fort McMurray, Alberta
The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts)
This position is safety sensitive
If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
