Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, ATS Learning Delivery, the Manager, ATS Course Delivery leads the day-to-day administrative functions within the school and oversees the onboarding of ATS candidates into the organization as well as their transition into Operations following the completion of initial training.

The Manager, ATS Course Delivery leads a team of Operational Training Specialists, ensuring the high functioning, efficient delivery of simulation. The manager ensures the optimal capacity of specialty simulation delivery through the development of OTS training plans, oversight of simulation scheduling, and regular coordination with Operations, Curriculum, and Learning Technology. The manager also serves as the key contact for Curriculum managers in the scheduling of simulation development, and the delivery of annual recurrent and end user training. The manager also serves as the key contact for Learning Technology in the installation of software and hardware in simulators.

This position must leverage feedback loops between training delivery outcomes and data used for candidate hiring decisions, ensuring continual process improvement. In addition, the Manager, ATS Course Delivery will interface collaboratively with management and senior leaders within the Organization to support the onboarding and transition of students into ATS Learning and subsequently Operations.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with Workforce Planning, Talent Acquisition, Operations, and ATS Learning leaders to develop a strategy that ensures quality candidates are onboarded into ATS Learning and properly transitioned into Operations.
  • Facilitate the feedback of student performance data back into the hiring process to ensure continuous improvement in candidate selection.
  • Execute student onboarding strategy to ensure students are consistently prepared to receive operational training, regardless of location, and support NAV CANADA as an Employer of Choice.
  • Support the transition of students into the Organization, whether it be into initial ATS training or into Operations.
  • Support both the national and local OTS Training Programs in training Operational Training Specialists on required competencies.
  • Optimize the use of the simulators by leading a team of Operational Training Specialists and coordinating with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum, ATS Learning Development for planning, scheduling, and budgeting of ATS simulation maintenance and delivery activities.
  • Collaborate with Learning Technology and End User Training for simulator maintenance software and hardware install, and upgrade support.
  • Work closely with Recruitment and Selection to support the use of learning and operational experts within the hiring process and actively participate in the selection process of ab initios.
  • Ensure efficient and effective utilization of Operational Training Specialists.
  • Build collaborative ties with business-unit leaders and Centers of Excellence to understand operational learning requirements and to address needs or gaps.
  • Develop effective partnerships with key stakeholders that will enable a full understanding of their business and the specific requirements of their positions.
  • Partner collaboratively with the business and collaborate with third party support to fulfill specialized needs from internal and external sources.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of specialists to deliver simulation. Develop and maintain simulation courseware.
  • Plan, track, and report on team performance and provide feedback to leadership in ATS Learning, Operations, and Talent Acquisition.
  • Work to enhance learning experience during the onboarding process to ensure the NAV CANADA brand remains positive in the eyes of candidates, new OTS employees, the community, and our customers.
  • Plan, develop, and track team competency objectives.

What you bring:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 5 years’ learning, operational, or human resource experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of people management/supervisory/teaching experience.
  • Experience participating in the development and execution of strategic plans and gaining operational support for implementation.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Detailed knowledge of interviewing and assessment formats and processes; excellent interviewing/assessment skills.
  • Knowledge of employment law and collective agreements.
  • Proficient in the use of SharePoint, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual in English and French preferred.
