This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement.  Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday)  Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

 

Responsibilities:

As a member of the Auto Managed Care Department, the Michigan Team adjusters handle both commercial and personal lines Michigan first party no-fault (personal injury protection) and medical payments coverage claims with a focus on financial accuracy, appropriate file disposition, and adherence to statutory guidelines. The Michigan no-fault adjusters handle no fault litigation as well as MCCA claims.    

  • Timely investigating claims to determine first party medical coverage applicability, verification of medical damages, interpretation of medical documentation, ongoing medical management to include utilization of tools to mitigate claim severity while focusing on accurate outcomes along with ruling out potential subrogation.
  • Candidates must also comply with requirements set forth by the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA) when handling serious injury claims. This position involves handling claims in litigation, as well as handling claims with significant injuries and high exposure.

Qualifications:

  • Previous Michigan First-Party Auto Medical Experience (No Fault/Med Pay/PIP) required
  • Consistent high level of performance.
  • Organization skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects are essential.
  • Experience with no-fault AMC litigation is a preferred plus, but not required.
  • Prior experience with large loss reporting is a plus.
  • Must have a sense of urgency; meet deadlines through effective decision making and problem solving.
  • Effective communication skills are required (oral, written, computer).
  • Excellent customer service skills are necessary along with the ability to create and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to adapt to change and implement change initiatives is critical.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$80,080 - $120,120
