·         Starting pay of $27.60/hr. up to top pay of $38.95/hr.*  

·         Quarterly gainsharing bonus potential 

*additional shift differential for off-shifts

General Purpose of the Position:

Engage in the review of design documents, create SWI/JES instructions, set-up and operate harness manufacturing machines and tools to produce high-quality wire harness and box assemblies.  Test and troubleshoot wire harness and control box assemblies. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read, interpret, and work from electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and engineering documentation.

  • Design and build professional wire harnesses, including selecting appropriate cables, connectors, assembly interfaces, and related components.

  • Generate wire lists and create harness assembly aids such as wire boards and support documentation.

  • Fabricate products by determining required methods, sequences of operations, dimensions, and tolerances using engineering information and sample parts.

  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and other precision instruments.

  • Set up and configure crimping tools, dies, and related equipment; terminate connectors using both crimping and soldering methods.

  • Build and assemble mechanical housings, test fixtures, and related assemblies.

  • Create and debug cable test programs using CableEye or similar automated test platforms.

  • Test, evaluate, and troubleshoot circuits, harnesses, and systems using multimeters and other diagnostic equipment.

  • Apply analytical skills to debug issues and recommend improvements or modifications to existing harness designs.

  • Develop and execute test procedures.

  • Research, source, and order electrical and mechanical parts, components, and tooling based on specification requirements.

  • Maintain computer proficiency with MS Office and Windows-based tools.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in alignment with lean production principles.

  • Self‑motivated and capable of managing tasks with limited oversight.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED; Prefer 2-year Technical Degree

  • Years of Experience: 2 years manufacturing; 5 years harness building in lieu of education

  • Requirement:

    • Ability to achieve IPC-A-620 trainer certification

    • Perform hand soldering of up to surface mount level

    • Complete outlined courses from the George Brown University’s Electronic Technician program.

  • Other Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated familiarity with cable and crimp standards, including IPC‑A‑620.

  • Experienced with cable and harness manufacturing equipment, tools, and production processes.

  • Strong understanding of electrical terminals, connectors, and component applications.

  • Proficient in applying basic math skills to measurements, calculations, and inspection tasks.

  • Skilled in interpreting dimensioning, tolerances, and industry standards.

  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics accurately.

  • Highly organized with strong project coordination and planning abilities.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive and productive working relationships.

  • Demonstrates strong independence and reliability in completing assignments.
