At Sandvik Mining we’re currently looking for a Manager Global Operational Excellence to join us in our Ground Support Division.

Location: flexible in Europe, in one of our entities.

Reporting directly to our Vice President Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain, you will lead cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement and implement lean methodologies to optimize processes. Sandvik Division Ground Support provides comprehensive mining, excavation, rock processing, and metal-cutting solutions through innovation, digitalization, and sustainable engineering. What you will be doing:

  • Promote reconciliation of global business strategies and KPIs with operations globally, thus impact of operations on profitability and growth (bottom-line/top-line).

  • Drive a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, lean and ultimately end-to-end process optimization across the organization.

  • Develop and implement metrics/KPIs and audits to monitor, steer and measure the success of operational excellence/lean/productivity initiatives in close cooperation with different stakeholders.

  • Think visionary towards best-in-class production and end-to-end optimization.

  • Drive standardization for and continuous improvement of core processes in the value chain to improve efficiency, reduce waste and improve quality whilst fully supporting HSE requirements and compliance.

  • Identify needs of education and training to improve the establishment of a self-learning LEAN Organization, thus building and developing a lean organization consisting of lean managers.

  • Provides coaching and mentoring to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills to implement operational excellence methodologies (like lean, Kanban, 5s, six sigma).


What we are looking for:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field.

  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing and supply chain environment.

  • Profound experience in operational excellence, manufacturing, lean, six-sigma, or black belt methodologies.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach combined with a strong analytical and problem-solving mentality.

  • Ability to communicate effectively measures and strategies, from shopfloor to management.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead intercultural and cross-functional teams.

  • Proven success to motivate and inspire others, creating a collaborative mindset.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Proficiency in MS Office products (especially Excel, PPT), Power BI and MS Power Platform is an advantage.

  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
