Leads improvement programs and initiatives for a production and/or other manufacturing service area. Provides leadership and direction for the area. Ensures continuous and efficient production in desired quantity and quality, and effectively manages daily maintenance work and shutdowns. Interfaces with business leadership and supply chain for coordination of schedules and understanding of customer needs. Accountable for establishing and meeting fixed and variable cost objectives. Sets expectations for adherence to policies and procedures and safety standards. Manages production and manufacturing services/functions. Responsible for the operation of high hazard processes and/or single processes. Manages quality, cost, resources and schedules. Typically provides leadership for fifty or less direct and indirect reports.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage the daily filling, production, and packaging of refrigerants, ensuring targets are met regarding cost, quality, and volume.

  • Monitor filling, blending, and processing equipment, scheduling maintenance to minimize downtime, and troubleshooting technical issues.

  • Lead and train production supervisors and operators, manage shift schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a culture of safety.

  • Monitor tank levels, manage raw materials, and oversee the cylinder filling, testing, and shipping process. 

  • Monitor, mentor, coach and develop direct reports, ensure adherence to policies and procedures, provide recognition, evaluate and provide feedback on performance, address performance concerns and resolve problems

  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of product packaging and the legislation that regulates it

  • KPI control

  • Experience with unionized staff

  • CAPEX controls to align capital projects with strategic goals

  • Deliver Capital Projects on time

  • Knowledge of EHS & PSM to ensure the correct execution of the programs and controls

  • Contract Manufacturing control and evaluation

  • Respond to emergency situations (fire, environmental spills, equipment failure, etc.)

  • In collaboration with the team and procurement negotiate and manage all service contracts

The following is required for this role

  • Bachelor’s degree (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical or related engineering programs)

  • Bilingual: Spanish/English

  • Valid U.S. visa required for occasional business travel

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or operational setting, preferably in chemical or gas production.  

  • Understanding of chemical production processes, filling operations.

  • Strong communication, conflict resolution and team-building skills.

  • Proficiency with analytical tools to help gather and analyze data

  • Strong background on safety risk analysis.
