Job Description

Location: Central Office - 123 Robert S. Kerr Ave. Oklahoma City, OK 73102

Salary: up to $45,000.00, based on education and experience

Full Time /Part Time: Full Time

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday

Primary Hours: 8am-5pm

 

Position Description:

Revenue and Billing Accountant Tech I is an entry level position that will flex between the Revenue and Billing departments. This position will provide agency accounting/infrastructure support necessary to meet Federal and State financial reporting obligations. Employees are primarily responsible for performing routine entry level work in maintaining financial accounting data in the Accounts Receivable and Billing departments. This includes receiving and receiving payments from the mail or cash window in a timely manner, confirming and tracking receipt of said payments, and balancing payments received; and lower-level data entry for billing claims and invoices.  

 

Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Picks up mail daily from the mail room
  • Opens Vital Records and miscellaneous mail, receives, identifies, and receipts Vital Records payments made to the agency, applying these payments to the correct funding as identified per application.
  • Follows proper handling of PII (Personally Identifiable Information) guidelines.
  • Reconciles and balances all receipted check payments with reported totals on a daily basis.
  • Shreds deposited checks
  • Looks up records and receipts for program areas, as requested.
  • Bundles receipts & applications for programs
  • Data entry for Medicaid claims.
  • Data entry and pulling reports for Revenue Generating Contracts.
  • Ensures documents are named and filed correctly.
  • Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

One year of clerical or bookkeeping experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting completion of six semester hours in accounting or bookkeeping at an accredited college or university for each six months of the required experience or the completion of a vocational training course in accounting for the one year of experience.

Valued Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Knowledge of accounting procedures, of business arithmetic, and of modern office methods and procedures. Knowledge is required in the use of office equipment such as calculators, personal computers, and copiers. Plus demonstrated ability to work independently and perform a wide range of accounting functions. 
  • MicroSoft Office Suite

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of the job, employees are required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Employees must be willing to complete all job-related travel associated with this position. Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
