Position Overview:

Hanson Professional Services Inc., a leader in providing innovative solutions for infrastructure projects, is seeking a highly motivated Regional Infrastructure Lead. This pivotal role will focus on developing and executing business strategies, elevating Hanson’s profile in the industry, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a keen understanding of the civil engineering field and a strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regional Business Development, Strategy and Project Management:

  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure Market Principal and regional leadership to develop and implement strategic plans for business growth.
  • Elevate Hanson’s profile for complex infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on projects involving DOTs.
  • Engage in business development activities, including teaming and cultivating expertise in bridge projects.
  • Project Management, especially related to winning and executing complex projects and mentoring staff in pursuits and project delivery.

2. Liaison and Communication:

  • Act as a liaison between project managers and discipline leaders, especially regarding contract acquisition, schedule management, and business development activities.
  • Facilitate effective communication and address potential friction points, ensuring a positive work environment and high team morale.

3. Local Government and Civic Engagement:

  • Coordinate with the Indianapolis office lead to drive Local Government Business Development initiatives.
  • Develop and participate in civic engagement activities to enhance Hanson’s brand presence in IN, KY, and expand into IL and MI.

4. Market Expansion and Relationship Building:

  • Partner with project managers and work with KY staff to build strategic partnerships and expand market share within Kentucky and establish a strong practice in MI.

5. Recruiting and Mentoring:

  • Lead recruiting efforts to attract and retain high-caliber local staff, with a focus on elevating capabilities to handle increasingly complex projects.
  • Mentor and support staff to strengthen the company culture and enhance overall team performance.

6. National Pursuits and Industry Leadership:

  • Support national pursuits as assigned, including high-profile projects.
  • Take a leadership role with ACEC IN, with the goal of serving on the ACEC IN Board to represent Hanson’s interests and influence industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in civil engineering with a focus on infrastructure projects, including experience in business development and project management.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and communication skills with a sensitivity to team dynamics and interpersonal relationships.
    • Proven track record of successful business development and strategic planning.
    • Experience with bridge projects and working with INDOT is highly desirable.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex project requirements.
    • Familiarity with local and regional markets in IN, KY, IL, and MI.
