Here’s a summary of the role:   

You’ll build and own features across the full stack—from React UIs and Node.js APIs to serverless backends on AWS—and have room to grow into AI/ML work (LLMs, RAG, agentic AI). If you like shipping production code, owning services end-to-end, and learning in a collaborative team, this role is for you. 

Role purpose:  

  • You will design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services using React, TypeScript, and Node.js, deployed and operated on AWS (e.g., Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, EventBridge, EC2).
  • You’ll implement and evolve JWT-based authentication and authorization, write clear APIs, and contribute to architecture and code quality. Experience with REST APIs, serverless, event-driven systems, and cloud-native patterns will be central to your day-to-day work.
  • As the team grows its use of AI, you’ll have opportunities to contribute to LLM integration, RAG, and agentic AI solutions.
  • We’re looking for someone who cares about reliability, security, and maintainable code and who enjoys collaborating in an agile environment.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff): 

  • Design and build responsive, accessible front-end features with React and TypeScript and integrate them with backend APIs. 
  • Develop and maintain Node.js backend services and AWS Lambda functions, including API design, data modelling, and persistence (e.g. DynamoDB). 
  • Implement and improve JWT-based authentication and authorization flows across front end and backend. 
  • Use AWS services (e.g. S3, SQS, EventBridge, Lambda) to build event-driven, scalable solutions and support existing workloads. 
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment pipelines, and operational support so features are reliable and maintainable. 
  • Contribute to exploring and integrating AI/ML capabilities (e.g. LLMs, RAG, agentic AI) as the product and team evolve. 

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview: 

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience in an agile, fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong hands-on experience with React and TypeScript building production web applications. 
  • Solid Node.js experience developing APIs or backend services (REST, async processing, error handling). 
  • Practical experience with AWS (e.g. Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS or similar) in at least one project or product. 
  • Experience implementing or integrating JWT (or similar token-based) authentication and authorization. 
  • Ability to write clear, testable code and to collaborate through code reviews and version control (e.g. Git). 
  • Good written and verbal communication; able to explain technical decisions and trade-offs. 
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt to new tools and patterns, and work in an agile, team-oriented environment. 

 It would be great if you had these to, but we’ll support you if you don’t:  

  • Experience with RAG, LLM APIs, or agentic AI (e.g. prompt design, tool use, evaluation). 
  • Familiarity with AWS beyond the basics (e.g. EventBridge, Step Functions, API Gateway, infrastructure as code such as CDK or Terraform). 
  • Experience with testing (unit, integration, or e2e) and CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Knowledge of security and compliance considerations in cloud and API design.
