Job Overview:

As the Principal Solution Architect at Fortrea, you will be at the forefront of strategic leadership within our IT organization. Your role is crucial in defining and shaping the Clinical Architecture guiding principles and overall strategy. You will establish and enforce technology rules and standards for Fortrea IT, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices. Collaborating closely with platform architects and business stakeholders, you will drive the development of architectural roadmaps that support our business goals and uphold our technology standards.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Lead the definition and development of Enterprise Architecture principles, strategies, and standards to align with business goals and support organizational growth.

  • Develop solution architecture strategy and articulate a vision for enterprise technology that harmonizes with business strategies, processes, and requirements.

  • Manage the interconnections, interfaces, relationships, and dependencies across Fortrea platforms, ensuring seamless integration and alignment.

  • Establish and communicate architecture governance processes and standards to be implemented throughout Fortrea IT.

  • Design, implement, and supervise architectural strategies to steer the evolution of clinical and operational systems.

  • Collaborate closely with platform architects and business stakeholders to synchronize technology strategies with business objectives.

  • Stay abreast of emerging IT trends in healthcare and clinical research to maintain competitiveness. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards in the development and deployment of technology solutions.

  • Encourage and facilitate innovation within the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Provide mentorship and opportunities for career development to team members.

  • Advocate for the integration of scalable and efficient systems to support the organization's mission and objectives.

  • Fulfill any other duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field. Equivalent and relevant experience may also be considered. Extensive experience in designing and implementing enterprise architecture strategies and solutions.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to drive innovation and change within the organization.

Experience (Minimum Required):

  • At least 10 years of experience in Solution Architecture or a related field.

  • Proven leadership and management experience in IT strategy and enterprise architecture.

  • Extensive experience in implementing enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF or Zachman.

  • Established track record of successfully implementing complex IT projects from ideation to deployment within set timelines and budgets.

  • Experience in governing the architecture process with cross-functional IT teams.

  • Experience in organizational change management, innovation, and technological transformation.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.

  • Certification in Enterprise Architecture framework such as TOGAF or Zachman.

  • Experience in a Clinical Research Organization or healthcare-related industry.

  • Knowledge and understanding of advanced computing platforms common in healthcare industry.

  • Hands-on experience with emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) would be a plus

Pay Range:$155k-$175,000 (The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity)
