Position Summary

The Siteman Cancer Center is seeking an organized and motivated individual to join the Tissue Procurement Core responsible for interacting with staff and research investigators on the medical school campus, in a broad range of laboratory tasks needed to support research studies.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • File and retrieve patient tissue and biofluid samples from cryogenic storage systems and process samples for distribution from the laboratory to support research studies.

  • Perform moderate-to-complex data entry into the laboratory inventory database and compile data to generate reports for research studies; utilize spreadsheets and word processing programs.

  • Provide backup for Project Management staff with laboratory and administrative activities necessary to complete investigator requests for specimen processing and distribution for research studies.

  • Perform maintenance, calibration and cleaning of laboratory cryogenic storage equipment; maintain thorough and complete records.

  • Monitor laboratory supplies and assist with ordering laboratory reagents needed for research studies.

Salary Range

$19.21 - $28.85 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
