Job Description:

This position may work up to 37.5 hours/week for up to three months; thereafter, the incumbent in this position may work up to 20 hours/week.

Innovative, multidisciplinary research. Complex diagnostics and novel detection methods. High-tech instrumentation and state-of-the-art laboratory services. All are components of the scientific community that is the Wadsworth Center of the New York State Department of Health.

 

Health Research, Inc. is currently seeking an Hourly Project Assistant II to join the Wadsworth Center’s Laboratory Information Management System (CLIMS) team.  This position may work up to 37.5 hours/week for up to three months; thereafter, the incumbent in this position may work up to 20 hours/week. 

 

The Hourly Project Assistant II will participate in the development of software using Python, Javascript and Oracle SQL.  This includes creation of software prototypes as well as the development and testing of solutions for data manipulation and analysis, along with other related duties as assigned.

 

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location in Albany NY and live within commuting distance to the official work location when working.  HRI offers hybrid telecommuting arrangements.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate or undergraduate student in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field. 

Preferred Qualifications

Fundamental programming skills and an understanding of core computer science concepts. Strong fundamental Python, Javascript, and Oracle SQL. Experience in developing web applications. Experience in integrating 3rd party API, and libraries based on the documents. Experience working in an Agile environment. Experience searching for possible solutions and applying them.

Conditions of Employment
Grant funded, hourly position expected to last through 7/31/2025. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.


Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
