Platform Securities is a wholly owned subsidiary of FIS and has 3 key UK business lines. Wealth, Transfer Agency and a Multi-Lateral Trading Facility (which is progressing through regulatory approval). The core Wealth business is going through a period of stabilisation and as such we require an experienced and resilient person to roll their sleeves up and be prepared to work hard and pick up lot of different tasks.


About the role:
We are seeking a seasoned risk professional with experience or detailed understanding of Operational Resilience. You will work with business stakeholders to evolve, embed and strengthen the Operational Resilience framework, ultimately ensuring regulatory compliance. You will run scenario exercises, prepare Board level material, engage with stakeholders across the business and wider FIS Group.


Your role will be to ensure that aspects of Operational Resilience is considered in all day-to-day business activities within the defined (and ever evolving) Platform Securities operating model. You will be responsible for ensuring that framework delivers an operational environment that allows the business to continue to provide continuity of services to clients regardless of external factors that may impact it. This role will pay a pivotal part and be instrumental in shaping the future state of Operational Resilience within the business with responsibility for the modelling and framework that underpin this key requirement.

Possessing proven knowledge or recent experience with the implementation of Operational Resilience Programmes within a regulated Financial Services firm, you may be an analyst looking for that next step in your career or someone and who is looking to leverage their managerial expertise within a global organisation.

Additionally, you will be someone with experience in the identification, evaluation and prioritisation of risks and risk management techniques, coupled with being able to work with Senior Management and build strong stakeholder relationships across the company.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Stakeholder engagement: Ensuring that the businesses important business services are consistently reviewed, challenged, and bought up to date to a level that will stand up to regulator rigour.

  • Leveraging existing (and suggesting new) MI reports to identify and map out the people, processes, technology, facilities, and information that support important business services.

  • Work with key business leaders to develop impact tolerance statements and stress test scenarios that could plausibly arise in the course of business in the modern world.

  • Work with colleagues in second line functions to align the operational resiliency framework to the risk appetite of the business and wider FIS group (with focus on the Key Risks that impact Important Business Services).

  • Bringing the operational resiliency framework in line with other key business and regulatory constructs (e.g. Business Continuity Planning, ICARA, Consumer Duty needs).

  • Adapt and evolve operational resilience plans and processes, including internal and external communication plans and liaising with key 3rd party suppliers to align and understand their levels of resiliency (and how our business fits into their structures and plans).

  • Organise, deliver, and facilitate scenario exercises in order to improve operational resilience capabilities, leading to defining areas for improving business resiliency.

  • Monitoring overall adherence to the tolerances set for operational resilience. Taking appropriate action to rectify issues and report on any significant departure from the agreed tolerances.

  • Building out key relationships with operational management and business leadership teams and producing supporting management information and reporting to key business stakeholders, up to Board level.

  • Acting as the key business contact point for operational resiliency to internal and external parties (i.e., Corporate Clients, internal Risk and Compliance functions and key Regulatory bodies)

  • Preparing and submitting Management Information, Key Performance Indicators and Key Risk Indicators.

Supporting the Head of Risk with key activities including:

Creating and reviewing the Monthly Risk Committee collateral

Creating and reviewing Quarterly Board Committee collateral

Educating operational teams on Risk identification and mitigation

Challenging on risk events and delivery of mitigating actions

Supporting with Risk Appetite Statements, KRI, RCSA and other risk materials.

Ad hoc tasks as allocated by management.
