Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing food service to the members in a positive and friendly manner. Services may include – set-up and clean up of dining room, food preparation, serving food, and dishwashing.

Wage: $19.810/hr (Breakdown: $16.810 base + $3.00 differential = $19.810)

Hours are: 5 PM – 8PM weekdays and 11:30 AM – 8 PM every other weekend/holiday. Scheduled for approximately 14 hours each week.

Under immediate to general supervision, performs general routine work in simple food preparation, serving and cleanup tasks. May provide training to new employees or explain work processes but would not be assigned work leader responsibilities such as assigning and monitoring work.

 

Requirements/ Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: There are no specific education or experience requirements.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in the food service industry.

 

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Ability to: understand and follow facility kitchen and dining room safety practice; safely use knives and handle hot equipment or utensils; follow instructions; tolerate high temperature and high humidity; communicate effectively with facility residents, co-workers; bend, stoop, lift and carry food items equipment and supplies; stand on feet for long periods of time. Sets tables, fills sugar, salt and pepper shakers, and water glasses and coffee cups. Deliver food carts to outlying areas. Clears tables, cleans carts, and prepares dishes for dishwashing machines. This position may not be assigned all the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all the duties that may be assigned.

Knowledge of: personal hygiene, basic kitchen equipment supplies and utensils; basic foodstuffs such as fruits, vegetables, bakery goods, meats and poultry; food preparation procedures for salads, sandwiches, short order items and other routinely prepared foods; facility standards and procedures for the cleaning of dishes, utensils, equipment and facilities; food sanitation and food preparation schedules
