Description
- Manage the corporate safety functions and champion technology solutions.
- Develop innovative solutions to evolving driver safety challenges on public highways.
- Network, establish and maintain relationships with government and industry safety groups.
- Recommend safety and security strategies to the senior leadership team.
- Create and instill a high level of respect for safety, security and compliance.
- Develop succession plans and hire, train, develop and mentor safety personnel.
- Participate in safety management team strategy development.
- Work with the safety organization and legal staff on strategic and tactical initiatives.
- Develop strategies and plans for continuous improvement.
- Manage the planning, instruction, and implementation of safety programs.
- Manage efforts to reduce accident and incident frequency.
- Participate in accident investigations.
- Oversee compliance reviews and inspections.
- Train and supervise Field Training and Safety Coordinators and support staff.
- Work with the General Counsel to seek redress for damages/injuries caused by third parties.
- Prepare annual budgets.
- Regular, sustained attendance.
