Cyber Security Engineer Mid 1

What you will do:

A security engineer is instrumental in a wide variety of solutions in the business, from building deployment pipelines of security services developing new security capabilities, and working with development teams to improve their security posture.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring that we keep the business and our customers safe.

What will your responsibilities include?

• Consider how your modifications will affect others and follow change management processes

• Maintain the health and logging capability of a SIEM

• Deliver new capabilities for detecting and remediating SIEM platform health

• Act as an SME for SIEM engineering questions from our tribes

• Develop and contribute to a culture of cloud-native engineering

• Publish and maintain documentation around delivered solutions

• Creatively solve security problems from end to end

• Provide out-of-hours support for our mission-critical services

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with a SIEM platform, preferably Splunk

• Hands-on experience as a Systems Administrator, Security Engineer, DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

• A keen interest and understanding of Cloud concepts and Cyber Security in the cloud

• Experience troubleshooting complex problems and engaging with stakeholders to resolve them

• Hands-on experience with the Linux command line

• A cool head under pressure – we work together as a team, especially in the busier periods

• A willingness to approach unfamiliar tasks
