Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as legal support for the efforts driven by the GVP Chief Procurement Officer to advance procurement and supply chain activities across GE Vernova, enabling execution of the overall sourcing vision and strategy for the company

  • Partner with senior leaders to shape and execute procurement legal strategy aligned with enterprise priorities, enabling disciplined sourcing decisions, supply continuity, risk mitigation, and long-term value creation across businesses

  • Lead legal change management across GE Vernova's organizational structure, driving alignment and consistent legal practices across business segments; serve as a bridge between enterprise priorities and business-level execution

  • Apply commercial rigor and risk-based decision making to global sourcing strategies, supplier engagement, and purchasing execution

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, commercial, operational, and supply chain risks across a global supplier base; advise on risk allocation, indemnities, warranties, and liability exposure to protect GE Vernova while enabling commercial outcomes

  • Drive enterprise standardization where it creates meaningful value — developing and continuously improving common procurement contracting forms, clause libraries, fallback positions, negotiation playbooks, and terms and conditions across GE Vernova in partnership with business legal teams

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies, including antitrust/competition, trade controls, sanctions, anti-corruption, and sustainability

  • Support supplier governance, performance management, and disciplined resolution of disputes and escalations

  • Establish and maintain procurement legal policies, governance processes, and approval matrices aligned with GE Vernova controls

  • Support enterprise procurement initiatives that present a coordinated One Team approach to the supply base across direct, indirect, and logistics categories

  • Enable procurement transformation initiatives, including digital tools, process simplification, and global operating models; champion and scale the adoption of legal technology and AI-enabled tools within procurement contracting workflows

  • Build organizational capability by delivering practical training for procurement and supply chain teams across the enterprise

  • Support M&A, divestiture, and restructuring activities through procurement-related legal due diligence and integration support

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership

  • 15+ years of legal experience with deep expertise in commercial contracting, procurement, or supply chain law

  • Experience operating in global, matrixed organizations, preferably within energy, industrial, or manufacturing businesses

  • Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and risk frameworks relevant to global procurement

  • Demonstrated experience leading legal change initiatives across complex, multi-segment or sub-P&L organizational structures

  • Demonstrated ability to drive outcomes through partnership with senior leaders

  • Familiarity with legal technology platforms, CLM systems, and the application of AI tools in contracting and legal operations

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong enterprise mindset with the ability to balance risk, speed, and value creation

  • Demonstrated commercial judgment and practical approach to problem‑solving

  • Proven ability to lead through influence, credibility, and relationship building

  • Ability to apply Lean principles to simplify and enable scalable, repeatable processes, with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Curiosity and comfort with emerging legal technology, including AI-assisted contracting tools, and a proactive orientation toward modernizing legal delivery

  • Clear and effective communicator who can translate legal requirements into actionable guidance
