Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled, driven, and adaptable Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience developing medium- to high-complexity products and services.

Our client is revolutionizing medicine by developing cutting-edge genetic products that combine advanced technology and scientific innovation. By leveraging unique genomic and clinical data, we aim to accelerate research breakthroughs and improve patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct system analysis, assess risk, provide estimations, and develop technical designs and implementation strategies.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and perform root cause analysis for product issues or defects.
• Develop high-quality code, write unit tests, and conduct code reviews.
• Collaborate with product owners and end-users to define requirements and translate them into reliable, scalable, and operations-friendly features.
• Create and maintain detailed software specifications based on requirements.
• Work closely with developers, quality engineers, and product managers throughout the SDLC to ensure quality at every stage.

 

 

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, comparable program, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of software development experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Recent hands-on experience with Java, preferably using open-source frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles (OOP, SOLID, etc.).
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs.
• Proficiency in relational databases and advanced SQL.
• Familiarity with message brokers/queues (Apache Kafka, AWS SQS) is a plus.
• Experience with cloud technologies, AWS is preferred.
• Strong Linux knowledge and command-line scripting skills.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across multiple time zones.
• Bioinformatics or Healthcare IT experience is beneficial but not required.
