About the Position

The Global Security Deputy Director (GSDD) will serve as the central focal point of contact responsible for overseeing and implementing corporate and project policies and procedures, to ensure the safety and security of Dexis employees, visitors and assets. The GSDD will administer and assure compliance with the company’s security strategies, plans, and procedures in accordance with Dexis guidelines requiring strategic planning, risk assessment, and collaboration with various corporate departments for a secure environment.  This position is located at the Dexis office in Arlington with international travel to project sites.  The DSDD reports to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities

 Corporate security posture

  • Responsible for leading corporate security program and all aspects of security for staff and consultants at the corporate office and overseas project field offices.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement improvements.
  • Develop and/or maintain corporate security strategies, plans, and project security templates updated on SharePoint
  • Provide security input and perspective to corporate leadership to ensure decision makers understand and consider security issues when formulating business strategies or proposals.
  • Keep management abreast of project or site-specific safety and security issues or concerns.
  • Maintain physical security controls of corporate facilities.
  • Supports the preparation of security plans for RFP submissions if required.
  • Stay current with emerging security threats and trends to proactively address potential risks.
  • Oversee the investigation of security incidents and prepare reports on findings and recommendations.
  • Liaise and coordinate with ISOS and other security platforms used by Dexis in support of its workforce across various field offices.

 Project security oversight and coordination

  • Conduct security assessments and provide recommendations and assistance at project start-up to develop site-specific security platforms.
  • In close collaboration with field teams, create, implement, manage, review, and/or update project safety and security plans in response to operational results and client priorities, focusing on effective and efficient procedures, visual diagrams, and project-specific maps, as required.
  • Review and finalize any evacuation planning for projects, including during start-up.
  • Frequently test field security protocols to ensure operational readiness, functionality, and efficiency.
  • Complete security assessments and recommend office locations for field offices and expat residences; help assess and identify secure hotels and transportation options for short-term travelers.
  • Deploy if required, during start-up to transitional areas and support the procurement, vetting, and training of local security staff and vendors.
  • Support and evaluate procurement of all security-related needs, including vehicles, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinates with field leadership on all security-related matters.
  • Vet and train field security staff, including project security focal points and full-time Security Officers or Managers, to ensure hired local security staff are credentialed.
  • Liaise and coordinate with government clients and security partners in the U.S. and the field to ensure compliance with local regulations and contractual requirements, continuity of project operations, and safety of personnel.
  • During security emergencies, serve as the point person (24/7) and coordinate corporate resources to support the project in ensuring rapid two-way communication between headquarters and the field team, staying abreast of developments through triangulating information with appropriate third parties, and making recommendations for necessary response and action.

Global security education

  • Conduct training and extensive global security education and awareness program to ensure staffs’ security and situational awareness.

 Travel security oversight

  • Assist with maintenance of travel tracking and provide reporting and analytics, as requested.
  • Conduct various pre-departure briefings, visit requests, and security education and awareness training for staff and consultants traveling.
  • Use and maintain a security platform to track staff in high-threat areas.

 Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience providing security services for international organizations.
  • Experience working with complex, insecure U.S. Government overseas programs.
  • Experience designing and implementing new security programs and protocols. Experience coordinating with OSAC, U.S. Embassies, Regional Security Officer, and international development security colleagues.
  • Strong understanding of Hostile Environment Awareness Training and proven ability to develop and implement security training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.

 Preferred Requirements

  • Experience supporting USAID/OTI projects or other work in nonpermissive environments.
  • Professional proficiency in a second language, preferably Spanish or French.
  • Experience supporting staff and IT Departments address cyber security threats and incidents.

Below is the pay range aligned with this position. When creating an offer, Dexis evaluates compensation holistically, triangulating between external market research, our budget for the position, and internal equity to arrive at a figure that is fair and competitive.

Dexis pay range for this role:
$108,000$132,000 USD
