J71, J72, and J73 are cardiovascular step down telemetry monitored units. The three units make up a total of 73 beds: J71-25 beds; J72-24 beds; and J73-24 beds. These fast paced nursing units provide nursing care to a select medical cardiac patient population, which includes:
Myocardial infarction
Post cardiac intervention
Chronic heart failure
Dysrhythmia management
Pulmonary hypertension

Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.
A caregiver in this position works rotating days/nights from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment
One year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting required for acute care settings
Will consider licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
