Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced DevOps Support Engineer to support and optimize cloud, infrastructure, and application deployment environments. This role involves provisioning, troubleshooting, and automating support processes across AWS, VMware, and legacy systems, supporting CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring overall platform reliability. The ideal candidate will collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to enhance operational efficiency, implement automation, and maintain security and compliance standards supporting enterprise growth.

Software Requirements
 

Required Software Proficiency:

  • Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD, Backstage — extensive hands-on experience supporting deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines (latest versions)

  • Kubernetes (supporting AWS EKS) — strong experience in container orchestration and support of cloud-native platforms

  • Linux OS, Windows OS — proficiency supporting enterprise infrastructure and support tools

  • VMware infrastructure support and administration supporting enterprise virtualization/support tasks

  • Monitoring and logging tools: Prometheus, ELK Stack, Datadog, CloudWatch — for observability and incident detection

  • Support tools: Autosys, PowerShell, Shell scripting — for automation and support workflows supporting both modern and legacy systems

Preferred Software Skills:

  • Cloud platforms: AWS (preferred), Azure, GCP supporting hybrid cloud or enterprise deployments

  • Orchestration and configuration tools: Helm, Ansible supporting environment management and automation support

  • Proprietary enterprise applications support or internal systems (preferred)

Overall Responsibilities

  • Support and manage cloud-native platforms, legacy systems, and virtualization environments supporting enterprise applications

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operational workflows using Terraform, CI/CD tools, and scripting

  • Troubleshoot technical issues across infrastructure, applications, and systems supporting high availability and security

  • Monitor system health, performance metrics, and security logs; support incident management and root cause analysis

  • Support application, environment, and infrastructure upgrades and migrations supporting scalability and compliance

  • Collaborate with DevOps, security, development, and QA teams to improve platform stability and operational efficiency

  • Maintain documentation for deployment workflows, operational procedures, and security controls

  • Support support activities, including scheduled maintenance, patching, and release support in a continuous delivery environment

  • Support Automation & Infrastructure (Essential):

    • Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation supporting environment automation and infrastructure as code

    • Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git support supporting CI/CD pipeline automation

  • Proven experience supporting hybrid and cloud-native environments in enterprise settings

  • Hands-on experience in infrastructure automation, deployment pipelines, and environment support supporting high-availability systems

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with incident management, root cause analysis, and performance tuning

  • Experience supporting enterprise virtualization (VMware) and legacy systems is a plus

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Support cloud, containerized, and legacy environments, ensuring operational stability

  • Automate deployment, configuration, and environment support workflows using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tools

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, and security incidents promptly and efficiently

  • Support infrastructure upgrades, environment migrations, and system patches supporting resilience and compliance

  • Monitor system health metrics, security logs, and incident alerts supporting proactive incident resolution

  • Collaborate with development, QA, security, and operations teams to improve platform performance and automation capabilities

  • Maintain detailed documentation supporting operational standards, processes, and compliance requirements

  • Support scheduled maintenance, patching, and support activities supporting enterprise SLAs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent

  • 4+ years of supporting cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and automation in enterprise environments

  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware support certifications, or automation-related certifications are advantageous

  • Proven experience supporting and automating enterprise environments supporting high availability and security standards
