About the Role
A Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales and increasing AIA’s market share through Bancassurance firms. Building good rapport and strengthen relationships with Bancassurance partners, maintain high level of sales activities to deliver the set target, ensuring a high level of service and support to build sales growth.What you will be doing
Work closely with Head of Bancassurance, Product and Marketing to deliver and achieve sales target, VoNB targets for the Bancassurance Channel
Case management to ensure optimal case conversion from submission to inception.
Deepen relationships with partners through regular engagements.
To achieve sales target for the distribution channel by working closely with Head of Bancassurance, Product and Marketing to maximize sales for assigned Bancassurance firms & Insurance Reps.
Conduct product and sales training through individual and group training sessions, seminars, workshops and meetings.
Work with Bancassurance firms to establish performance measurements and service level commitments, plan sales campaigns, prepare for new product rollouts, and ensure proper alignment with the Bancassurance firm’s own goals and objectives to help them grow their business.
Design and develop sales and marketing training and marketing materials to maximize sales, with support from Distribution and Marketing Support areas to meet Bancassurance Firms & Insurance Reps needs, while being responsible for budgeting and expenses.
Work with Talent Development trainers and fellow Business Development Managers to ensure training/coaching needs of Insurance Reps are fully catered.
Ensure continuous development and growth of Insurance Reps, including taking an active role in training, mentoring and coaching.
Handle and respond to queries from Insurance Reps; work with the Mid-Office to ensure service levels are maintained.
Keep abreast of market development and updating office of these updates. Recommend solutions to improve products by gathering customer feedback and those of competitors, as well as market conditions and developments.
Meet activity goals identified by the Head of Bancassurance, Product and Marketing and Chief Partnership Distribution Officer.
To ensure achievement of 100% planned activities at zero overrun.
Close collaboration with internal stakeholders from Partnership Distribution (Product & Marketing and Middle Office); Internal Departments (e.g., Underwriting, Actuarial, Ops, Customer Service, Legal, Compliance) and externally with Bancassurance Firms and Reps.
We are looking for someone with:
University Degree, preferably in Business Management / Banking & Finance.
Minimum 3-5 years of sales or sales-support (frontline) experience in insurance, banking or finance industry.
Attained CLI, ILP, HI, FNA qualifications or equivalent eg M5, M9.
Strong sales & marketing experience.
Good knowledge of the insurance industry or financial planning is preferred.
Current knowledge of insurance, investment and wealth management products and services.
Good understanding of Bancassurance Channel network in Singapore and industry trends.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and to communicate clearly and concisely.
Ability to create and deliver effective presentations, seminars, and workshops to Insurance Reps.
Expected to maintain knowledge of existing AIA products, new or enhanced AIA products and existing AIA marketing campaigns; to be on top of competitive environment (new products / services and / or sales campaign launch).
Experience in marketing insurance or investment products to Insurance Reps.
Strong selling, interpersonal and relationship cultivation skills.
Ability to work independently and to communicate clearly and concisely.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Expected to maintain knowledge of existing AIA products, new or enhanced AIA products and existing AIA marketing campaigns; to be on top of competitive environment (new products/services and/or sales campaign launch).
