Overview

The engineer will work in an integrated DevSecOps team to deploy, customize, and support cloud platform services in a multi-cloud environment with AWS/Azure/Google cloud infrastructure for PaaS/IaaS/SaaS. The engineer will advise, and support customers and end-users work upon that platform.

Responsibilities

  • Assist users with onboarding to cloud accounts and making efficient use of cloud services
  • Design and develop automation to support CI/CD processes for account provisioning, configuration, operations, and maintenance using tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, Chef, Jenkins, GitHub, or similar tools
  • Operate, maintain, and enhance multiple enterprise class accounts in a secure and compliant manner aligned with government guidelines and requirements  
  • Assist users with secure access to the latest tools to optimize their capabilities  
  • Develop and implement innovative approaches to optimize the cloud computing environment and experience for users
  • Assist users to leverage cloud resources to achieve better outcomes by maintaining high performing operations and optimal costs for their cloud environments
  • Maintain end-to-end security ensuring best practices are always implemented. 
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining optimum cloud architectures 
  • Provide after-hours support on a scheduled basis to respond to incidents and perform operations and maintenance tasks
  • Monitor and report to management on actual and projected tasks
  • Provide exceptional customer service and work within an enterprise ticketing system to provide customers and management with up-to-date status on all assigned tickets
  • Support IT infrastructure technologies and standards including software & hardware life cycle, system configuration policies, security, hardening, High Availability, Disaster Recovery etc.
  • Periodically being on call for evening and weekend support

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related field plus five years of relevant experience 
  • Advanced/Professional cloud certifications in one or more of the following:  Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud
  • One or more years of experience providing system, security, and/or network administration in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with orchestration and automation tools within a cloud environment in production and lower environments. Examples: Chef, Jenkins, Git, Electric Flow (Electric Cloud), Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, AWS CDK.
  • Strong practical Linux and Windows based systems administration skills and scripting experience
  • Must meet all requirements for obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust Clearance 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • One of the following certifications:
    • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)
    •  ITIL Foundations
    •  Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
    •  Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    •  Google Cloud Professional Certification
    •  Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    •  AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

Basic Compensation: $120,000.00 -$ 148,000.00 yearly salary

The salary offered within this range will be based on the selected candidates’ skills, experience, education, market data, and internal parity. DLH may offer other rewards that may include performance incentives and program-specific awards.  An applicant’s salary history will not be used to determine compensation.
