Overview:

Completes skilled clerical duties related to consumer payments and payoff processing and requiring analysis and expanded use of judgment within assigned department; completes exception processing and research tasks.  Responsible for multiple product lines and vendor oversight for consumer products on the system.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Complete routine data entry and system updates and validation for consumer payments and payoff processing, consumer and mortgage maintenance, consumer exception payment processing and dealer payoffs.  Complete customer and account level maintenance on mortgage and consumer systems of record and related to consumer and mortgage maintenance, consumer exception payment processing and dealer payoffs.
• Complete standardized document review and validation as well as basic documentation preparation related to consumer and mortgage maintenance, consumer exception payment processing and dealer payoffs.
• Complete mid-complexity level research related to maintenance, processing and payoffs for these products.  
• Complete entry-level reconciliations related to these activities.
• Complete routine or standardized exception processing for these products.
• May contact internal business partners, external customers and vendors as required to complete assigned responsibilities.
• Complete daily quality review and provide feedback for processing and tasks completed by the offshore team.
• Ensure activities comply with applicable laws and regulations. 
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

This position works under moderate supervision and exercises reasonable judgment in completing their responsibilities and requires highly specialized knowledge of the servicing system, products and pertinent policies and regulations.

Education and Experience Required:

Associate’s degree, or in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 2 years’ higher education and/or work experience

Proven internal and external customer service experience

Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent spreadsheet and word processing software

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated problem-solving skills

Education and Experience Preferred:

Minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $18.68 - $31.14 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
