Position Overview
KSM’s IT Services Group is seeking a part-time IT Operations & Market Research Analyst to support both the operational effectiveness of the IT Services team and the firm’s strategic growth in technology advisory and managed services offerings.
This hybrid role is split evenly between:
(1) IT operations, documentation, project coordination, and process improvement, and
(2) Market research, sales prospecting, and business development support.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Project Support (Approximately 10 hours/week)
Project Coordination & Execution
Track and monitor progress for IT initiatives.
Maintain project documentation, action logs, process maps, and communication briefs.
Support IT leadership with risk identification and reporting.
Process Improvement & Documentation
Evaluate workflows and recommend improvements.
Create and maintain SOPs and knowledge base articles.
Draft user-centered change-management communication.
Data, Reporting & Administrative Support
Compile and analyze data from IT systems and tools.
Prepare reports and dashboards.
Assist with procurement workflows, vendor coordination, and administrative tasks.
Market Research & Sales Prospecting (Approximately 10 hours/week)
Market & Industry Research
Conduct research on technology, regulatory, and market trends.
Analyze segments to identify opportunity areas.
Prepare concise research briefs.
Sales Prospecting & Pipeline Support
Build targeted prospect lists using CRM tools and industry data.
Research organizations and leadership to qualify leads.
Draft tailored outreach materials and prospect summaries.
Maintain up-to-date CRM records.
Marketing & Content Insights
Gather market intelligence for marketing collateral.
Monitor competitor offerings.
Provide research-backed content support.
Qualifications
Required
3+ years in project coordination, operations, research, or similar roles.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Excellent written communication and documentation abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and collaboration tools.
Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time role.
Preferred
Experience in higher education, government, consulting, or professional services.
Familiarity with CRM systems and research databases.
Exposure to IT project management.
Experience in preparing structured materials for strategic decision-making.
