In Marketing Technology, we act as an innovation lab to deploy Salesforce technology for our business needs, build new functionality to meet Salesforce use cases, and share back code and insights to accelerate the development of the Salesforce platform for our customers! The Decision Science group in Marketing Technology focuses on our data, AI, and automation platforms to enable Salesforce to manage our customer data at scale, produce robust analytics from our marketing activities, and integrate AI and ML algorithms into automated decision making to drive key business actions.

This role will drive the development of our marketing automation technology using Salesforce Data Cloud, Flows, core CRM, and partner data platform technologies from Amazon Web Services, Snowflake, Google Cloud, and many more. You serve as a technical thought leader driving the long term architectural vision for the Decision Science group while partnering closely with product and engineering teams to advise them on day to day architectural decisions in line with Salesforce and industry best practices!

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and design scalable software applications, data platforms, data pipelines, automation systems, system integrations, and AI/ML algorithm outputs that integrate cohesively to deliver Salesforce business outcomes
  • Define and implement architectural principles, standards, and best practices for data management, automation, AI/ML development, application development, and system integrations.
  • Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure the quality, maintainability, and scalability of software solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze technical feasibility, and develop comprehensive architectural solutions for platform and application development.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in data, automation, and AI/ML to find opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and data scientists to enhance their technical skills and architectural understanding.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience in software development and architecture with a strong focus on data platforms, automation, and AI/ML.
  • Mastery of architectural principles: Solid understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, domain-driven design (DDD), and other modern architectural styles to build robust and adaptable systems.
  • Proven experience in architecting and building large-scale distributed systems using cloud-based technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, data processing frameworks (Spark, Hadoop), real-time streaming technologies (Kafka), and AI/ML platforms (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Experience establishing and promoting software development best practices: Proven track record of implementing and advocating for CI/CD pipelines, TDD, code reviews, and other quality assurance practices to ensure robust and reliable software delivery.
  • Experience with Salesforce products and technologies, particularly Data Cloud, CRM, and Flow and how these products integrate into Salesforce Marketing Cloud and partner Marketing Technology platforms.
  • Strong foundation in AI/ML algorithms: Familiarity with supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning algorithms with understand of ML algorithm outputS and processes in software systems
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with modern analytical data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift
  • Experience with the latest in Amazon Web Services offerings particularly in data, machine learning, and AI
  • Experience with marketing technology platforms such as email platforms, AdTech platforms, web platforms, and customer data platforms
  • Experience leading architecture and technical development for Digital teams with high volume web based transactional systems
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities related to marketing platforms, data, automation, or AI/ML.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $224,100 to $341,900.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $244,500 to $372,900.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
