Sr Process Improvement Engineer

At Amgen Breda medicines are labeled, assembled, stored, and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people from 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing, and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.

What you will do

The team is focused on the overall process performance of our labeling & packaging lines in Breda. They monitor the line output and investigates deviating events or trends.

As Sr Process Improvement Engineer you will identify improvement opportunities within our shopfloor and supporting processes. In collaboration with other departments, you will lead or contribute to business cases for process optimization and new production lines. Furthermore, you will investigate different scenarios for new product introductions, increasing production volumes, and other mid-long-term strategic initiatives.

With your strong analytical skills, you will optimize data collection, monitoring, analysis, and visualization to assess current performance and identify trends, and improvement actions. With your broad technical and process knowledge you will support key decision making for our long-term initiatives and goals to ensure the supply of our medicines to our patients!

  • Apply robust analytical skills to evaluate and interpret data using multiple sources of information (qualitative, quantitative, and trend data).
  • Monitor process performance and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Keep processes in line with ever-changing requirements (quality, safety, technical, or technology) by assessing impact and proposing solutions.
  • Interpret stakeholders need to identify improvement opportunities and use LEAN / Six Sigma to drive them.
  • Lead implementation of selected improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Utilize advanced data analysis combined with subject matter expertise in operations to assist and guide decision-making by senior management on longer-term initiatives and projects (e.g. new capabilities or capacity improvements).
  • Provide training and guidance to change leaders on the shop floor and supporting departments.

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent due to experience.
  • Proven experience in the field of Industrial Engineering, Performance Improvement and/or Operational Excellence in an Operations / Manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated business environment (GMP, GDP).
  • Experience in optimizing internal value streams and managing projects.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and application of problem-solving (such as Six Sigma or Root Cause Analyses).
  • Digital savvy and expert skills in using multiple analytical tools.
  • Fluency in English both in oral and written communication.
