The annual base salary for this position ranges from $97,200.00 in our lowest geographic market to $217,700.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Footwear Product Testing Manager to join the Lifestyle Footwear Product Testing team based at Nike New York Headquarters! Our Product Testing Manager will operate as a Coach/Player, encompassing both People Manager and Analyst responsibilities. This role ensures that Nike Lifestyle Footwear fits and performs up to the highest standards. Our Product Testing Manager will drive and implement all aspects of Lifestyle footwear testing; including expertly planning tests, recruiting and building relationships with target athletes*, performing all level of tests, thoughtfully analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data while capturing product and athlete feedback, producing excellent written reports and delivering presentations to the product creation team. This role is responsible for building diverse and inclusive teams, while encouraging an environment in which differences are openly shared, embraced and incorporated into the team culture. This role will be responsible for individual talent and performance development of direct reports. This role will develop team members to support both career and organizational goals, as well as provide mentorship and development opportunities. The candidate needs to have strong product creation competence, proven influencing skills, formal mentoring experience, outstanding communication and organizational skills as well as demonstrated initiative in identifying areas of opportunities and implementing solutions in conjunction with a leadership team. 

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will be leading the overarching testing strategy in New York across Lifestyle Footwear teams and be responsible for testing Nike Lifestyle footwear. You’ll use your proven understanding of the footwear manufacturing process combined with your strong knowledge of the Athlete* to thoughtfully derive insights from data in order to inform and inspire the Lifestyle product creation team. You will provide mentor direct reports in delivering results on testing projects. You will also partner with WHQ Directors and Managers to build and implement Best Practices as related to the NY testing program for the supported businesses and drive alignment. A typical day is a combination of communicating and interacting with Athlete* testers, coaching and mentoring direct reports, attending zoom meetings with your cross functional partners that are based at WHQ and managing prototype samples. You will also conduct testing both on and off NYHQ campus. Because we interact where Athletes* live, work and play, at times you will be working outside of traditional working hours. 

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work directly with the Analysts in the NYHQ as well as with your WHQ extended Footwear teams including: Development, Design, Engineering, Product Marketing, Sports Marketing, Material Development, in pursuit of product excellence. You will collaborate with your Footwear Product Testing teammates at WHQ on prioritized projects to test new innovative footwear. You will also work with Athletes* to gain a better understanding of their needs in order to capture their feedback of the tested models. Footwear Product Testing is a global team, so you will have teammates across the world that you will connect and collaborate with. You will report to the WHQ Beaverton, Oregon based Senior Director of Footwear Product Testing. 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training; or a minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience. 
  • 4 years' demonstrated ability in a professional working environment. Experience in the footwear, product testing, development, marketing, engineering, retail, customer service industry is preferred. 
  • Understanding of footwear components, materials, and inline productions processes is a definite plus. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Experience working with athletes, coaches, and equipment managers. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with spreadsheet database and statistical analysis procedures. 
  • Able to physically lift and carry items weighing 20 pounds.
  • Demonstrate leadership experience.
  • Must have a functioning and insured car that can carry up to 30 pairs of shoes, to enable majority (up to 80% of time) of travel in the New York City and surrounding area meeting with testers.
