As the Manager, Employment Knowledge, you will provide expert advice and support across the Business and People Community on the interpretation and application of enterprise agreements, modern awards, legislation, and policies at the Qantas Group.

The Manager, Employment Knowledge will also proactively assess People processes and functions to identify risks of non-compliance with employment obligations, as well as recommend improvements, and liaise with relevant stakeholders to drive and facilitate the implementation of those improvements.

You’ll have –

  • 5+years’ experience in providing comprehensive advice and interpretation of complex industrial instruments, employment legislation and HR policies.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Employment law / Industrial relations / HR or equivalent.
  • Experience in industrial/operational organisation preferable.
  • Proactive individual who provides practical and pragmatic solutions to support the business needs and deliver optimal Group outcomes, whilst ensuring compliance with employment obligations.
  • Proven ability to understand and analyse employment related queries, investigate and collate relevant information, identify possible associated risks and propose relevant solutions, all in a timely manner.
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills and ability to relate to people at all levels of the organisation along with the ability to influence, negotiate and coach.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement and maintains appropriate confidentiality and discretion.
  • Demonstrated understanding of complexities of employment contracts and experience drafting employment contracts.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing, leading and coaching others.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage a high volume workload.
  • Experience with terms and conditions applicable in aviation industry desirable.
