The College of Computing at Grand Valley State University is expanding and inviting applications for tenured and tenure-track positions across all ranks. You will have the opportunity to expand our research and teaching portfolio and increase the impact via multidisciplinary collaborations. You can contribute by teaching in comprehensive degree programs and designing new programs to prepare career-ready talent in cutting-edge areas of computing. While all areas of Computer Science or closely related areas are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to candidates with teaching and/or research background in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Data Science, Health and Bioinformatics, and Human Centered Computing/Design to fill 8 available positions beginning August 2025. Applicants of all ranks require an earned doctorate in Computer Science, or a closely related field by the appointment date. Applicants for tenured Associate and Full Professor must have academic experience demonstrating excellent teaching and a strong scholarship record, with a history of successful grant writing. Salary & Benefits:

Minimum starting salary of $100,000, commensurate with experience

Primary Duties:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses

  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students

  • Establish a robust, externally funded research program

  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings

Required Qualifications and Education (Assistant and Associate/Full Professor):

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, or a closely-related field

  • Record of teaching excellence commensurate with desired rank

  • Record of research and scholarly publications commensurate with desired rank

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Record of external funding commensurate with desired rank

  • Record of leadership and mentorship commensurate with desired rank

 

Preferred Qualifications and Education (Assistant Professor and Associate/Full Professor):

  • Teaching and/or research background in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Data Science, Health and Bioinformatics, and Human Centered Computing/Design

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
